With its innovative solutions for building and infrastructure projects, HOCHTIEF makes as well a contribution to climate protection. We realize high efficient buildings and energy infrastructure projects based on renewable energies.
Our goal: We aim to reduce carbon emissions together with our clients and partners.
In November 2015, the 21st UN Climate Conference (COP21) was held in Paris. Representatives from 180 countries negotiated about a new international climate protection agreement and for the first time agreed on a shared goal: all countries shall contribute to climate protection. The agreement's central element is a reduction of global warming caused by greenhouse emissions to well below 2°C, ideally even to 1.5°C, by 2030.
HOCHTIEF has already committed itself to this issue since long ago by pursuing a specific sustainability strategy. In this connection, we also cooperate with the non-profit organization CDP and already before the climate conference declared our readiness to work towards meeting voluntary goals. For instance, HOCHTIEF has pledged to include information on climate change in its reporting.
