Elbe Philharmonic Hall, Hamburg, Germany

Copyright : © HOCHTIEF

With the “Elphi” Hamburg received a new landmark: HOCHTIEF realized the highly complex building in the middle of the harbor, built on top of an historic quayside warehouse. The Elbe Philharmonic Hall, which was inaugurated in 2016, is Hamburg’s queen of cultural buildings. The large concert hall is a work of art in itself. 10,000 sound-reflecting panels on walls and ceilings in the concert hall—each one individually milled—ensures an optimal listening experience.

Lake Champlain Bridge, Essex County, NY, USA

Copyright : © Flatiron/Joel Strayer

Since 2011, the 670-meter-long Champlain Bridge in the USA links communities in the federal states of New York and Vermont. The bridge was built by HOCHTIEF subsidiary Flatiron, and it saves its users a 160-kilometer-long detour or an hour’s crossing with the ferry. Instead of the originally planned eight years, Flatiron only required two years for the construction. Constructing large elements on land and then transporting them by ship to the assembly location saved a great deal of time.
