Container Terminal in Gdansk
Between 2005 and 2007, HOCHTIEF realized the container terminal, making the deep-sea harbor in Gdansk a center for freight traffic between Central Europe und Scandinavia. The main feature of the harbor is the pier, it projects some 800 meters into the Baltic Sea and offers two container reloading stations. Seven million cubic meters of seabed were moved. The newly created land measures some 44 hectares. The project includes infrastructure measures, such as the construction of transport routes, railway lines and all supply lines.
