Rosenthal-Viaduct Near Friedberg/Hessen

Rosenthal-Viaduct Near Friedberg/Hessen, 1896-1897

The Rosenthal Viaduct, with its 24 arches, was already almost 50 years old, when a new connection was built parallel to the old route. On this new Friedberg-Mücke railway line, HOCHTIEF constructed an arched bridge, whose columns were faced like the large viaduct with quarry stone. The representative construction was mainly performed to take into consideration the nearby Friedberg Castle, the residence of the dukes of Hessen-Darmstadt.
