Landeslabor Berlin-Brandenburg, Berlin, Germany

In 2019, HOCHTIEF handed over Landeslabor Berlin-Brandenburg (LLBB) earlier than planned. The new building was built according to the designs of the architects’ office kister scheithauer gross from Cologne, and provides modern laboratories with various different safety levels on four floors. As owner and client, HOCHTIEF has concluded a rental contract for 30 years with the state of Berlin, and will operate the building. The tasks of the state laboratory LLBB range from the testing and evaluation of food and pharmaceuticals for people and animals, as well as protecting against the risk of environmental toxins, right through to defending against bioterrorism.
