Queensferry Crossing, Edinburgh, Scotland

Queensferry Crossing, Edinburgh
Queensferry Crossing, Edinburgh

Queen Elizabeth II came to the opening ceremony: As the leader of a consortium, HOCHTIEF built the approximately 2.7-kilometer-long cable-stayed bridge over the river Firth of Forth, near Edinburgh in Scotland, known as “Queensferry Crossing”. Between 2011 and 2017, with the necessary connecting structures, almost seven kilometers of road infrastructure were built. The bridge is fitted with a modern wind protection system, which secures traffic even during strong winds. HOCHTIEF hence built one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Europe, which is also one of the world’s longest cable-stayed bridges.
