Salt crystal: Impressive architecture combined with functionality: We completed the Salt Storage Facility in New York City in 2015. The body, facade and surface of the 21-meter-high structure are reminiscent of a salt crystal: The use of special additives gives the concrete a white-ice-blue color and acts like a transparent shell. The salt storage facility stores the supplies used to clear the streets of the metropolis during the infamous snowstorms. The salt storage facility can hold up to 5,000 tons of salt.
