For the tenth time in a row, HOCHTIEF is included as sole German construction group in the internationally renowned Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe (DJSI). HOCHTIEF’s stock exchange quoted subsidiary CIMIC is listed in the corresponding Australian group. These indices list companies which operate in a sustainable manner and, alongside financial criteria, also consider ecological and social criteria with regard to company management.
HOCHTIEF CEO Marcelinio Fernández Verdes says: "The capital market is recognizing our sustainable approach. With our DJSI membership, we are on the radar screen of those investors whose portfolios are governed by strict sustainability criteria."
With its engagement, HOCHTIEF also secures itself competitive advantages. Clients more and more often only work together with construction partners who can deliver detailed information on occupational safety and corporate governance, resource consumption or climate protection.
Sustainable management has a long tradition at HOCHTIEF. The company has regularly published environmental and sustainability reports since 2001. This year, HOCHTIEF was one of the first listed companies in Germany to publish a combined Annual and Sustainability Report in which all key events are looked at under financial, ecological and social aspects.
