HOCHTIEF secures contract for the R2 highway in Slovakia

Joint venture contract volume approximately EUR 130 million

HOCHTIEF has secured a contract from the national traffic authority NDS for a part of the R2 highway in Slovakia. The contract is worth approximately EUR 130 million for the joint venture, in which HOCHTIEF has a 50% share.

The R2 section Mýtna–Lovinoba?a–Tomašovce, for which the overall construction work began in July, runs for a length of around 13.5 kilometers.

The project involves eleven bridges, six anti-noise walls and eight supporting walls. The highway section is planned to be opened in 2021.

“We are pleased to build this complex road construction project on behalf of NDS and to expand our presence in the Slovakian infrastructure market”, said Dirk Wassmann, Business Sector Manager of Europe East at HOCHTIEF Infrastructure.
