The transformational project will be the largest healthcare investment in Detroit history.
Turner Construction Company, along with joint venture partners Barton Malow and Dixon, celebrated the groundbreaking of Henry Ford Health’s Detroit hospital expansion project - the single largest healthcare investment in Detroit’s history.
Team members, patients, neighbors and partners came together in September to mark the official construction launch of Henry Ford Health’s $2.2 billion hospital expansion project.
“The Turner team is thankful to have been part of this historic moment,” said Bob Bowen, Vice President and General Manager, Turner Construction Company. “We can't wait to watch this transformational project take shape and make a lasting impact on our community.”
The new 1.2 million square foot hospital facility will feature a 20-floor patient tower, an expanded emergency department with trauma and behavioral healthcare space, five specialized intensive care unit floors, and state-of-the-art operating suites.
“We are creating a place like no other in the state, and through this major expansion of our campus, we are cementing our commitment to our Detroit community for the next century and beyond.” said Henry Ford Health President & CEO Robert Riney.
The expansion is expected to be completed in 2029.
