“Our teams are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of sustainable construction, and these awards are a testament to their innovation and commitment,” said Julia Gisewite, Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, Turner Construction Company. “By integrating advanced low-carbon concrete solutions, we are not only lowering embodied carbon but also demonstrating what’s possible for the future of the built environment.”
Underscoring Turner’s leadership in adopting next-generation materials and methods that contribute to a more sustainable future, three of its projects—San Francisco International Airport (SFO) Terminal 3 West, the Intuit Dome, and a research facility in Massachusetts—have been honored with Concrete Innovation Awards by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA). These awards recognize pioneering advancements in reducing the carbon footprint of concrete, a critical step in the construction industry’s path toward sustainability.
"The 2025 Concrete Innovation Awards showcased the incredible progress our industry is making in reducing its carbon footprint while delivering strong, durable and sustainable structures," said Lionel Lemay, NRMCA executive vice president, structures and sustainability. "These projects are a testament to the collaborative efforts of NRMCA members, designers and builders who are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with concrete."
