Nuremberg—Overview

© HOCHTIEF

In Nuremberg, HOCHTIEF is playing a major role in the expansion of the subway system-and has been doing so since the beginning of the new millennium. By 2015, a total of around six kilometers of single and double-track tunnels had been built. We also built five stations.

Since 2020, we have been working on the U3 Southwest shell. The project includes the construction of 1.8 kilometers of new tunnel and two stations. Between 2012 and 2015, we built the shell of the section between Klinikum Nord and Nordwestring, which went into operation in 2017. This section also includes the construction of the two stations. By 2011, we had already completed the section from Kaulbachplatz to Klinikum Nord, including the new construction of the Kaulbachplatz and Friedrich-Ebert Platz stations. Between 2001 and 2005, HOCHTIEF expanded the network in Nuremberg to the southwest with the Sündersbühl station.
