Vienna—Overview

Our current job is located deep in the heart of Vienna and involves the expansion of the U2 station Rathaus into a line interchange with the new U5 line. Together with partners, we are building station shafts at a depth of around 30 meters as well as two single-track subway tunnels approximately 1,200 meters long. We are also building a subway station in the university district and two single-track tubes around 700 meters long coming from the City Hall station.

HOCHTIEF was already involved in the construction of the Lainzer Tunnel underground in the Austrian capital from 2006 to 2010.

Another infrastructure highlight was the expansion of the A4 eastern expressway at Schwechat Airport, which HOCHTIEF managed in 2014 and 2015.
